The Washington Demon softball team will need to dig deep tonight in the first round of the regional playoffs.

The Demons face Ft. Madison for the third time in three days, and the first time around on Tuesday lost both games while being outscored by a combined 15-1 score, but Washington chose not to use Ashley Rausch in either game in the circle.

At the plate for Washington, Grace Redlinger is the top bat with a .389 average with 19 RBI’s and two homers, Stephanie Fishback is No. 2 with a .365 average and Ashley Rausch is third with a .333 average. Chayse Jaspering has come on strong as of late, pushing her average over the .300 mark.

Rausch will be in the circle tonight and she will bring her 1.64 ERA and 146 strikeouts with her.

The Bloodhounds enter the game 17-17 on the regular season and coming off a double header sweep of the Demons. Kaylin Featheringill is the top bat with a .477 average, 34 RBI’s, two homers and three triples. Kayla Culbertson comes in at No. 2 with a .388 average and Alexis Pumphrey is third with a .383 average. In the circle, Chayse Lowney was the pitcher against the Demons on Tuesday, and she will be again tonight, with an 11-5 record, 3.26 ERA and 47 strikeouts.
