A state program is looking for four adults in Washington County over the age of 55 looking to re-enter the workforce. ExperienceWorks State Program Manager Ruth Bolinger explains the senior community service employment program helps train older Iowans in the setting of a non-profit or government agency, such as a public library. Those enrolled in the program work approximately 20 hours per week for minimum wage which transitions into full time permanent work in the community. She adds people who have lost a spouse, or left a secure job to take care of an ill family member or those who have criminal backgrounds tend to be served by this program.
