The Mid-Prairie baseball team start the playoff season today when they take on school rival Iowa City Regina.

The Golden Hawks had tough regular season, but the playoffs are a chance to get things started.

Mid-Prairie’s top bat continues to be the eighth grade prospect of Carson Gingerich with a .372 average and three RBI’s, but Seth Eash adds the runs with a .286 average and a team leading 15 RBI’s. On the mound, Eash is the top arm with a .97 ERA, 68 strikeouts and opponents hit just .161.

Regina comes in 22-15 on the season. Their top bat is Jake Brinkman with a .448 average, 35 RBI’s, five homers and four triples. He is followed by Riley Dixon with a .415 average and 40 runs scored. On the mound is one of six different arms for the Regals that have an ERA of 2.50 or lower.
