A Wapello County man has been convicted of murdering his pregnant wife. According to Scott County court authorities, a jury found 23-year-old Seth Techel guilty of murder in the first degree and nonconsensual termination of a pregnancy on Thursday. He faces a mandatory sentence of life in prison without parole. His sentencing is set for September 8th. This was the third time he was tried for the murder of his wife, Lisa Techel, which occurred in 2012 at their home in Agency. The first two trials ended in hung juries.
