The grand opening of Iowa’s largest solar farm is set for Thursday. Farmers Electric Cooperative of Kalona and Eagle Point Solar partnered for the project. The four acre farm located north of Kalona is almost triple the size of the state’s second largest solar farm and has the potential to produce the most solar energy per capita in the country. CEO of Farmers Electric, Warren McKenna, says this project has been in the works for three years. The ceremony at the solar array begins at 10am.
