Just a few more aspects of the Lake Darling State Park renovation need to be completed before it opens later this month. The Friends of Lake Darling and the Brighton and Washington Chambers of Commerce have scheduled a ribbon cutting for July 24th at 1:30pm. After the ribbon cutting, a tour of the park will be held to highlight the improvements made since the project began 14 years ago.

According to president of Friends of Lake Darling, Fay Vittetoe, crews are finishing up the concrete roads and a water pressure system still needs to be installed before the 24th.

Camping reservations are currently unavailable, but Vittetoe says the park will be open to the public beginning the day of the ribbon cutting.
