The Mid-Prairie softball team looks to go to punch their frequent flyer tickets to state again tonight against No.1 Benton Community.

Mid-Prairie has gone to state four straight season and seven of the last nine.

Mid-Prairie is led at the plate with Amber Kral with a .576 average, 54 RBI’s, 10 homers, three triples and 12 doubles. Alex Rath is the second leading hitter with a .549 average, three triples and 62 runs scored. Five batters are hitting over .300. In the circle is Taylor Kurtz with a 15-4 record, 2.47 ERA and 88 strikeouts on the season.

Benton Community is the No. 1 team in the state at 37-4 overall and WAMAC champions. They have not been to state since 1998. At the plate Alyssa Wiebel is the top bat with a .529 average, 53 RBI’s, 14 home runs, four triples, and 17 doubles. Lea Brunssen is the second leading hitter with a .479 average and 27 RBI’s. Benton has seven batters hitting over .300 on the season. In the circle is Amber Fiser with a .31 ERA, 292 strikeouts and opponents are hitting just .124. On the off chance she struggles, Wiebel will come in with a 2.38 ERA and 65 strikeouts.
