Severe Storm Warning Expires

The KCII Severe Weather Action Team responded to a severe thunderstorm warning Tuesday morning. Quarter-sized hail was reported in the City of Washington as well as pea-sized hail in Ainsworth. The warning for southeastern Washington, southern Louisa, northern Henry and northwestern Des Moines counties began at 6:58 a.m. and expired for Washington County at 7:35 a.m. Also, a quarter-of-an-inch of rain was recorded in the City of Washington.

Two of KCII’s team responded to the warning and helped get the information regarding the storm out first, fast and accurately.

A second warning was issued for Wapello County for a seperate storm cell. Listen to KCII Radio for weather updates.
