The Emerald Ash Borer has officially been found in Henry County. The specie’s larva was collected from a tree in Mount Pleasant and positively identified by a federal identifier.

A statewide quarantine has been in effect since February. The quarantine restricts the movement of firewood, ash logs, wood chips and ash tree nursery stock out of Iowa into non-quarantined areas of other states.

If you think your ash tree may be infested with the insect’s larva, if for instance it’s losing leaves, contact the Iowa EAB Team at 515-725-1470.
