English River Outfitters will hold the 1st Annual Bike Jamboree in Brighton this weekend. According to founder and president of the non-profit, Chuck Geertz, they held a small event last year, and with support from the Brighton City Council will be expanding on it this year.

Plans include a ride-in car and motorcycle show beginning tonight at 6pm. There’s a BBQ cookoff planned for tonight and tomorrow, with official judging taking place tomorrow afternoon. Geertz says there will also be a 127 mile ride that will take participants to bars in New London, Morning Sun, Letts, Ainsworth and Coppock. All of the events, including the live music tomorrow from 11am to 1am, will take place at or outside CaManders Bar and Grill.

Proceeds will go to English River Outfitters which provides a program that helps veterans adjust after returning from deployment through activities like hunting and camping. The non-profit holds those activities on acreage south of Washington.
