While the unemployment rate for the state remained at 4.4% from May to June it rose slightly in Washington County from 3.2% in May to 3.8% in June. According to Iowa Workforce Development the county with the highest unemployment in June was Lee County at 7.3%. In the KCII listening area Keokuk, Johnson, Jefferson, Iowa and Henry counties all saw increases in unemployment last month. Louisa County remained unchanged at 4.4%.
