Hills Bank Robbery Under Investigation

Police are searching for the man who robbed a Johnson County bank yesterday. The robbery at the Hills Bank location in Hills was reported at approximately 11:50am.

According to the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office, the suspect was possibly a black male wearing a white mask, gloves, gray pants and camouflage rain poncho. No weapon was displayed during the robbery. A suspicious vehicle was observed in the area. It’s described as an older dark green Oldsmobile or GM car with damage to the front window on the passenger side.

As of press time, the sheriff’s office is continuing to investigate with assistance from the Iowa City Police Department, Johnson County Drug Task Force and  Johnson County Attorney’s Office.
