Another $1,450 was given to the Washington County Sheriff’s Department K-9 fund this week. County Auditor Dan Widmer announced at the Washington County Board of Supervisors meeting that Bud’s Custom Meats in Riverside donated $250 and Brenneman Pork gave $1,200. Over $2,000 has been donated in the past two weeks to the fund.

Chief Deputy Jared Schneider stated it costs more than $10,000 for training and additional funds for equipment. The department’s K-9 officer, who was used in drug investigations and search and rescue, retired in January.
