A box culvert will be extended on W55 or Wayland Road this fall. Washington County Engineer Jacob Thorius explained at this week’s board of supervisors meeting that the project is approximately one-and-a-half miles south of the City of Washington. Thorius states the project will be paid with federal emergency funds. The estimate was $100,000 but the two bids received exceeded the estimate. The project was awarded to the low bid from DeLong Construction for $119,877.35. The road will be closed during the project, which has a late start date of September 29th.
