A dog that was tasered by a police officer in June and deemed vicious by the Washington City Council in July has been euthanized. Police Chief Greg Goodman states the dog, a Staffordshire terrier named Ozzy, was humanely destroyed last Friday and the process of a behavior evaluation was not completed by the owner.
The council had given the owner, Dan Maine, 30 days to have a behavioral specialist evaluate and determine if the dog was safe to have in the public or not. In June, the loose dog had growled at a citizen and then barked and snarled and made advances at the city’s animal control officer.
