More people are checking out virtual items through the Washington Public Library. Debbie Stanton, director of the library, presented the annual report at yesterday’s Washington County Board of Supervisors meeting and announced virtual circulation has increased by over 60 percent. In the last year over 5,600 virtual items were checked out. The virtual circulation includes eBooks, eAudio, eMagazines and database sessions.
On the other hand, Adult, Young Adult and Children’s fiction and non-fiction rates declined. Adult fiction still had the highest number of checkouts with 17,734. In total, last year, nearly 68,000 items were check out from the Washington Public Library.
