All possibilities are being considered as Mid-Prairie School District prepares for the fall round of Washington County Riverboat grants. President of the School Board, Jim Hussey, says they’re taking into account all their options before they begin putting a proposal or multiple proposals together.
He adds there is interest in focusing on the proposed auditorium. This would be the district’s third time applying for funding for the project. In those previous applications, they requested $2,500,000 over five years. Some of the money needed is already set aside. According to Hussey, a private donor has given $1 million to the district to build an auditorium.
In May 2013, the foundation presented their largest grant to date to the Washington Betterment Foundation for a similar project. The $2.5 million grant is being used by the group to finance the construction of an auditorium in Washington.
Applications are being accepted by WCRF until October 8th.
