The Mid-Prairie School Board has put together a list of legislative priorities ahead of the Iowa Association of School Boards Delegate Assembly. According to Mid-Prairie Board President, Jim Hussey, during the conference, school boards decide what issues the association should push in the upcoming session.

Mid-Prairie’s first priority is supporting rigorous content and standards consistent with Iowa Core, as well as shifting the focus to student achievement by reforming K-12 education. Hussey says they’d also like to see the state continue incentive programs for district’s that share personnel. Mid-Prairie has a number of sharing agreements with Keota School District.

The delegate assembly is being held in mid-November.
