As of noon Friday, 5.2 inches of rain has fallen in Washington in August. The norm precipitation for the first 29 days of August is 3.9 inches. Precipitation for year to date is above average by about two inches; so far this year 27.74 inches of precipitation has been recorded while the norm is 25.69 inches.
