An update regarding the RUSS board was presented by Washington County Supervisor Jack Seward yesterday. RUSS, or Regional Utility Service Systems, is considering a project for approximately 50 customers in Mooar Powdertown, an area in Lee County near the City of Keokuk. Although, to do the project every county involved in RUSS would have to approve a resolution so RUSS may issue bonds. Seward and Supervisor Steve Davis explained they have requested someone from the RUSS board and representatives from Lee County attend a workshop to answer questions regarding the bonds, the options for Mooar Powdertown and the project.

Resident Tom Duwa asked the supervisors to consider modifying the 28-E agreement at this time, to which Seward replied it is being considered.

A time has yet to be set for the work session with RUSS representatives but is tentatively scheduled for Thursday, August 28th. KCII News will bring you more information as it becomes official.
