The WACO football team went an even .500 last year, but the biggest concern for this year is the number of kids on the team.

WACO had just barely enough kids come out this year to have one backup at every position, but of those who did come back, they were some key players. On offense, Braden Blake comes back as a senior quarterback, he was 36-97 last year with eight touchdowns. Tucker Janecek comes back as the lead running back with 1,230 yards last year and 15 touchdowns, and Bryce Achen will be his backup with 898 yards and seven touchdowns. Receiving wise Achen is the top returner with 102 yards and two touchdowns.

Defensively, Janecek was the leading tackler last year with 86, and returns again this year, while Bret Hesseltine will be the second leading tackler with 42 tackles. Janecek will also be called upon in the secondary as well with two picks in the secondary for the Warriors.

WACO starts their season off like they did last year with Columbus, before they come home for the first game against BGM. WACO then moves on against New London, Van Buren, and Cardinal before they see a couple of conference foes in Lone Tree and WMU. WACO finishes off the season with Pekin and Danville.
