Washington County is looking for a new ambulance. Supervisor Richard Young who also serves as the ambulance director explained one of the four ambulances was in an accident on its way to Iowa City last month and needs to be replaced. Supervisor Chairman Steve Davis explained it was the same vehicle that was on the slate to be replaced later this year. Young estimated the new ambulance will cost $150,000 and equipment will be taken from the old ambulance to put in the new one. Young added at this time the ambulance service is operating with only three. The supervisors approved a motion to pursue bids to replace the vehicle that was in the accident.
