For the first time a Washington County steer will be part of the Governor’s Charity Steer Show at the Iowa State Fair. Tanner Knupp’s steer Toby will be one of 25 steers shown today. The cattle will be auctioned off following the show with all of the proceeds going to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Iowa; since its inception in 1983, the show has raised more than $2.2 million.

Knupp is a 2014 graduate of Washington High School and is involved in 4-H as a Washington Go-Getter and county council member. He will attend Iowa State University this fall and is the son of Zeus and Jackie Knupp of Washington.
