The WMU baseball team had two players make the all-conference list.

Darren Hunter was chosen for a second team infielder spot with a .431 average in conference play, 12 RBI’s. two homers, a triple and six doubles; Mathew Niebuhr was selected for outfield for WMU, with his .426 average, 17 RBI’s, a triple and eight doubles.

Honorable mentions for WMU are Travis Jones and Garret Baker.

Head coach Kenton Klopfenstein said that with getting all of his players back, including his all-conference ones other than lone senior Travis Jones, that his team can make a big leap next season.

“We have one senior, Travis Jones, and he led our team in on base percentage this year, so we’re going to miss him in the lineup as far as getting on base,” Klopfenstein said. “After that everyone else is back, so I think that we should be able to take another step next year.”

WMU finished eighth in the conference at 5-13.
