Auctions being held as part of this weekend’s 4th Annual Quad County Pork Fest will help provide food to students in need. The Drive to Feed Kids begins with a silent auction at 1pm Saturday at North Park, followed by a live auction from 5:30 to 8pm.
Proceeds will be used to start an Operation BackPack program for Mid-Prairie’s elementary schools, where kids who are food insecure get a backpack filled with food before they go home for the weekend.
Julie Gordinier is spearheading the effort. She says they expect to help 50 to 75 students through this program. Those interested in donating items for the auctions or volunteering on Saturday can contact Gordinier at juliewpc@gmail.com.
