The Washington Demon football team is looking to turn things around after last weeks trouble with Pella.

The Demons travel to Marion tonight to take on a familiar foe in the Indians.

Washington has become a 50/50 team, passing the ball 31 times last week, while running the ball only 29 times Daryn Seibelius showed that he is a force to be reckoned with on the field, going 15-31 for 196 yards through the air, and running for 149 yards on the ground. The issue is he was the whole offense last week, with the Demons only getting 18 yards on six carries from Ethan Hanson. Receiving wise, Junior Dakota Suchan was the leading receiver with three catches for 90 yards.

Defensively, Alex Gonzalez who is filling in for Tama Leutele leads the team in tackles with five, and two of them are for a loss.

Marion beat Mount Vernon 28-6 in their season opener and didn’t do anything flashy. The Indians threw the ball seven times, completed three of them for 65 yards and a touchdown. Washington will need to watch out for their host of running backs that racked up 223 yards and three touchdowns, led by Kory Walsh with 61 yards on 19 carries and two touchdowns. Defensively, there isn’t a young kid on the team, with 10 of the 11 kids playing being seniors.

Demon head coach Garrison Carter said he gives a lot of power to Seibelius to run the Demon offense, and tonight will be a good show of that.
