Ballots can be cast today in this off-year general election. Early voting in Iowa starts today at county auditor offices across the state. Voters may cast absentee ballots by going to their local auditor’s office from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekdays. Also, voters may request a ballot be sent to their residence by written request. The request forms can be found online or at an auditor’s office. According to Secretary of State Matt Schultz, over 112,000 voters have requested absentee ballots so far this cycle, nearly double those of 2010. Democrats have requested nearly 58,000, Republicans have requested about 31,000 and no party voters have requested just over 23,000 absentee ballots 43 days before the November 4th election.
