More than 2,200 people have died as a result of the Ebola outbreak that began in Guinea and spread to Sierra Leone, Liberia and Nigeria, according to the Associated Press. According to the Centers for Disease Control, 72 CDC staff are currently working in West Africa and 287 employees are working in the United States by providing outbreak support.
