The IMS cross country team hosted the IMS early bird meet last night with a lot of area schools, and the IMS individuals showed well.

Kirby Shetler was the top runner finishing in 19th place in 19:06, while Levi Geyer was 20th in 19:13. Noah Bruns was third on the team in 51st place in 21:39, Kobi Russom finished 61st in 22:27 and Jim Wang was 73rd in 23:55 to wrap up the scoring for the boys.

Muscatine won the meet with 40, while Iowa City High was a close second with 41. Highland was third with 129, WMU was sixth with 159, Washington was eighth with 189 and IMS was ninth with 202 points.

On the girls side, IMS’s Renee Buckwalter finished 14th in 17:31, and her teammate Riley Schmieder was 15th in 17:33. Liza Zanozina was 74th in 28:22.

Muscatine won the girls meet with 35 points, and again City High was second by a point with 36. Washington was the only scoring local team, finishing fifth with 138.
