The Mid Prairie Golden Hawks picked up an important win on the road last night.
As heard on 1380 AM 102.5 FM and KCIIradio.com, the Golden Hawks were looking to even their 2014 record at 2-2 as they traveled to Bill Nelson Field to take on West Burlington. Outside of three big offensive plays, the Golden Hawks held West Burlington in check winning 34-21.
The Golden Hawks were led on offense by running back Austin Slabaugh, who had 135 yards rushing and two touchdowns in the victory. Quarterback Ryan Cortum was 8-9 passing for 88 yards and two touchdowns in the victory.
The win improves Mid Prairie they are now (2-2) overall, and (2-0) in district play. Up next for the Golden Hawks, a match with the Cobra’s of Sigourney-Keota High School this Friday in Wellman.  You can listen to the game on AM 1380, FM 102.5 and on KCII radio.com.
