The second reading of the Property Maintenance Chapter 157 of the City of Washington code passed at last night’s city council meeting. This chapter is for all residential property in the city, not only rental units. The council discussed adding verbiage pertaining to the space between vertical guard rails so young children may not fall through them. The council also considered clarification regarding electrical receptacles but did not move to add anything more to the code. The third and final reading will be held at the next Washington City Council meeting. For more information about Chapter 157 click here. (Begin at page 35.)
