Soybeans across the Hawkeye State are about four days behind the average and five days ahead of last year with almost the entire crop setting pods or beyond and approximately 26 percent of soybean leaves turning color. In Southeast Iowa, 38 percent of soybeans leaves are turning color. At this time, 23 percent of soybeans are in excellent condition, 50 percent is good and 20 percent is fair.

Also, over 75 percent of the state has adequate or surplus topsoil and subsoil moisture levels.
