Hunters have less than a week to take advantage of Iowa’s teal season. Shooting hours for the special September teal season, which runs until Sunday, are from sunrise to sunset. No duck species besides blue-winged, green-winged and cinnamon teal can be hunted. Other active seasons include rabbit, squirrel and dove. Iowa Department of Natural Resources Conservation Officer Wes Gould says those small game seasons are great for kids new to the sport, and helps prepare them for larger game.
