It was a tough night for the Mid Prairie Golden Hawks, heard on AM 1380, FM 102.5, and KCIIradio.com as they lost in their first road game to the Clear Creek Amana Clippers 40- 6 at Tiffin. Clippers quarterback Nile Rourke threw for a couple of touchdown passes to wide receivers Alex Richie and Javon Manard. They also scored on the ground with Aaron Akers running for two touchdowns and Stephen Jensen also ran for a touchdown.
Mid Prairie finally scored with around twenty seconds left in the fourth quarter as Isaiahan Powell ran for a touchdown a yard out to avoid the shutout. Powell started over Ryan Cortum, because of injuries sustained to the game vs. Durant. Powell threw two interceptions against the Clippers defense.
