The WMU volleyball team headed to a tournament at West Branch on Saturday, and came away with a third place finish.

The Wolves found their way out of the pool play 2-1, beating English Valleys 21-11, 21-7, losing to No. 10 in 2A West Branch 21-14, 21-8, and beating Lone Tree 22-19 and 21-7. Head coach Dave Pieart also picked up his 200th in their game against Lone Tree.

WMU fell in the semifinals 25-10, 25-14 to No. 24 in 2A Eddyville-Blakesburg-Freemont.

Nicole Escher led the team again with 12 kills and also with nine aces and 23 digs, while Caitlin Jamison had 35 assists, and Lou Krieger-Coen had five blocks.

WMU moves to 3-3 on the season, and plays Pekin on Thursday.
