Columbus Day is coming early for a city in Louisa County. The federal holiday to celebrate the arrival of Christopher Columbus in the Americas is Monday, but Columbus Junction will be holding their annual Columbus Day beginning this morning.
Columbus Junction Community Development Director Mallory Smith recommends visitors check out the Jack Cecil Memorial Car Show, which is now in its third year. The show is being held from 8 to noon in the lower parking lot on Walnut Street.
Other highlights include the Columbus Day 5K at 8, Louisa County Conservation Petting Zoo under the viaduct on Main Street and the parade at 2.
