Two people in Washington County have received treatment for a communicable disease. Danielle Pettit-Majewski, Director of Washington County Public Health, shared the information at yesterday’s Board of Health meeting, without naming the disease. A person in the county screened positive and was under voluntary quarantine for two weeks. Now a family member has screened positive. The original case, which is no longer in quarantine, will be under direct observation for six months, five days each week with public health staff administering medication.

She did state it is not Ebola and not a concern for the community. KCII News will bring you more information as it becomes official.
