Iowa’s corn harvest is 16 days behind the five-year average and six days behind last year’s harvest, but Southeast Iowa is ahead of the state rate. In the Southeast corner of the Hawkeye State, 45 percent of corn has been harvested for grain. Moisture content of corn at harvest is estimated at 19 percent, which may limit some farmers from harvesting as they wait for it to dry in the field.

At this time, 23 percent of corn is in excellent condition, 54 percent is good and 18 percent is fair.
