The corn harvest in Iowa is three weeks behind normal pace, according to Monday’s Iowa Crop Progress and Condition report from the United States Department of Agriculture. Only five percent has been harvested so far. Nearly all of Iowa’s corn is in or beyond the dent stage and 79 percent is mature, about six days behind the five-year average. Over half of the state’s corn is in good condition: 24 percent is excellent, 52 percent is good, and 18 percent is fair.
