The Highland Huskies football team (3-5 overall and 2-4 in district) will end their season playing class 2A competition tonight.

The Huskies travel for a non-district matchup with the Class 2A Central Lee Hawks (5-3 overall; 3-3 in district). After a promising start, the Huskies have lost four straight games coming into the season finale. In those losses, Highland’s defense has given up an average of 47 points per game.

Last week, the Eddyville-Blakesburg Rockets spoiled the Huskies Senior Night football game with a 42-7 victory. One Highland running back is approaching a season milestone, senior Brian Garcia needs 106 rushing yards to finish the season with 1,000.

Central Lee has already surpassed their win total for a season ago (3), but will need some help to get into the postseason. The Hawks enter tonight in fifth place in the district, and needs Louisa-Muscatine (2-6 overall; 1-4 in district) to defeat West Burlington (3-5 overall; 2-3 in district) for the fourth and final playoff spot.
