The Highland Huskies volleyball team returns to match play this evening after a disappointing showing this past weekend at the New London Tournament.

The Huskies will host the Columbus Community Wildcats in a Southeast Iowa Super Conference contest. Highland now sits 13-12 on the season, and took part in New London’s Volleyball Tournament this past weekend. After winning their first match with Harmony (21-5, 21-8), Highland lost in straight sets to West Burlington (10-21, 7-21) and lost in three sets to Winfield-Mount Union (21-18, 23-25, 17-19) to keep them from advancing to the tournament’s championship bracket.

Columbus Community comes into the matchup 8-14 overall, and on a current three match losing streak. Last Thursday, the Wildcats lost in straight sets to the WACO Warriors (17-25, 16-25, 17-25). This will be the first time this season the two teams have met on the volleyball court.
