Veterans, area police and fire personnel, and military personnel will be honored tomorrow night as part of Washington’s first “Honoring Heroes Night.” Athletic Director Bryce Smeins explained the event at this week’s Washington City Council meeting. A caravan will take the heroes and football players from the high school to Case Field with a police escort and a military vehicle. The military vehicle will not be the city-owned MRAP.

The caravan will begin at 4:30 at the high school and use South Avenue B and Van Buren Street to travel to Case Field.

The heroes will also be recognized at 7:20 p.m. Before the National Anthem of Washington’s varsity football game against Davenport Assumption. The players will be wearing camouflage jerseys for the game.

Listen to KCII tomorrow night for pregame coverage beginning at 7 p.m.
