The Iowa Mennonite School’s cross country teams will be traveling to the University of Iowa for a meet this evening.IMS will participate in an invitational this evening at the University of Iowa Ashton Cross Country Course. IMS cross country coach Marty Gingrich says the course is the biggest reason his team participates in the meet.

“It’s the course the University of Iowa uses and the Big Ten (Championship) will be run there this year.” Gingrich said, “It’s a wide open area, the course is wide, it’s relatively flat, and runs faster than any of the course we have ran this year.”

Gingrich says his team might not fair well in team standings or individual placing, but says he will be able to gauge his runners’ times on a course similar to the one ran at the state meet.
