Despite national soybean production forecasts increasing, Iowa farmers are expected to harvest fewer bushels than projected in September. According to the United States Department of Agriculture, the country is expected to produce 3.93 billion bushels of soybeans, up 14 million from September estimates due to favorable growing conditions. The average yield per acre is 47.1 bushels. If realized, the national soybean crop will exceed the largest harvest in a decade by over 500 million bushels.

Iowa farmers are expected to harvest approximately 504.4 million bushels, down about 7.5 million bushels from last month’s forecast. And Iowa farmers are expected to harvest an average of 51 bushels per acre.
