Two Southeast Iowa Super Conference running backs could reach 1,000 yards rushing for the 2014 season this Friday. WACO senior Tucker Janecek and Columbus Community junior Mauricio Ramirez have each rushed for over 800 yards through the first six weeks of the 2014 season.

Janecek has collected 940 yards rushing on 148 carries, scoring 11 touchdowns. Janecek’s best game came in the Warriors’ week five win against Cardinal. The senior rushed for 171 yards and scored seven touchdowns in the victory. Janecek is averaging over 156 yards rushing per game this season, and is on pace to finish the regular season with over 1400 yards. Janecek and the Warriors will be in Winfield Friday night for a district matchup with the Winfield-Mount Union Wolves.

Ramirez has rushed for 866 yards on 137 carries, scoring 11 touchdowns. Ramirez’s best performance came in the Wildcats’ week four win over Wapello. The junior rushed for 222 yards and scored three touchdowns in the victory. Ramirez’s is averaging 144 yards rushing each game this season and is on pace to finish the regular season just shy of 1,300 yards. Ramirez and the Wildcats will be in Pella Friday night for a district game with the Pella Christian Eagles.
