Kalona’s Parks and Recreation board is meeting tomorrow evening to discuss programming at the community center. The local residents and members of city council that makeup the board will go over the pros and cons of having YMCA of Washington County manage the center and organize activities.

City officials and YMCA representatives began discussing this potential arrangement after Kalona’s Parks and Recreation Director resigned in August. City Administrator Ryan Schlabaugh says an agreement would likely involve money coming out of the city’s budget to offset the cost of the programs to keep rates low for community members.
