The Keota Eagles volleyball team can clinch the conference title this evening.

Keota is on a current nine match winning streak, which began with a tournament win against English Valleys September 2nd in Wapello. The Eagles and Bears will meet again tonight, this time in a South Iowa Cedar Conference match. A tenth straight match victory would clinch the conference championship for the Eagles. First year head volleyball coach Brandi Cave says the secret to her teams success has been her team staying level headed.

“They don’t get down on themselves when we are down in points.” Cave said, “They work as a team and come back. (They are) calm and level headed and work their way through it.”

A large reason for the Eagles success has been due to the play of senior Madison Sheetz. Sheetz is the Eagles leader in kills with 201. Cave says Sheetz is the team’s leaders.

“(She) puts in extra time when possible on her hitting, passing and serving .” Cave said, ” She is a tremendous tool on our team for sure.”

The 14-3 Keota Eagles look to claim the conference championship this evening as the host the 1-20 English Valley Bears.
