The leaf vacuum is now operating in the City of Washington for the season. J.J. Bell, Washington Maintenance and Construction Superintendent, announced the vacuum is starting in the northwest quadrant of the city today and will move in a counter-clockwise direction around Washington.

Also, Bell reminds residents to put leaf piles in the terrace area between sidewalks and streets, or on seal coat streets place leaves on the side of the ditch. Leaves should not be placed in the street or the center of ditches, as it can create drainage problems or traffic hazards.

The leaf vac will run through November 26th.
