The Lone Tree Lions were looking to extend their winning streak Friday night in Wayland.

The WACO Warriors welcomed in the Lions for a district showdown. The Lions were able to force seven Warrior turnovers and hung on for a 34-18 victory over WACO. Offensively, the Lions were lead by junior Jared Huson, who rushed for 167 yards and three touchdowns in the victory. The win improved extends Lone Tree’s current win streak to three games.

The Lions now are 4-2 overall and 3-1 in the district. The loss drops WACO to 1-5 overall and 1-3 in district play. Lone Tree will return to home to face Pekin next Friday, while WACO will travel to Winfield-Mount Union for a matchup with the Wolves.
