A district matchup with major implications is taking place this evening in Lone Tree. With their win last Friday at WACO, Lone Tree has won three straight games inside Class A’s district six. Tonight the Lions face arguably their toughest opponent to date as the Pekin Panthers come to town for a district showdown.

The Lions have been playing better, in large part due to the emergence of junior Jared Hudson. The running back has rushed for 507 yards and seven touchdowns during the Lions’ current three game winning streak.

The Panthers come into the contest undefeated on the year and have held three of their opponents scoreless. The Panthers are led on offense by their quarterback Trever Northup. The sophomore has 1,130 yards of total offense (945 passing, 185 rushing) and 17 total touchdowns this season.
